Visit Stonehenge — one of the UK’s most famous and mysterious attractions!
Travel to the Neolithic stones that have stood on the Salisbury Plains for around 5,000 years for an unforgettable experience. Departing from Central London on a luxury air-conditioned coach, visitors will have the choice between a morning or afternoon tour. Upon arrival, a shuttle bus will take you to the large, sturdy stones.
During your visit, you’ll get the chance to see the great and ancient stone circle of Stonehenge and discover the fascinating theories surrounding this prehistoric monument. Was Stonehenge a place of sun worship, a healing sanctuary, a sacred burial site or something different altogether? What cannot be denied is the ingenuity of the builders of Stonehenge. With only very basic tools at their disposal, they shaped the stones and formed the mortises and tenons that linked upright to lintels. Using antlers and bones, they dug the pits to hold the stones and made the banks and ditches that enclosed them. As you walk around, attempt to piece together yourself how, who and why the stones came to rest there.
Don’t forget to make the most of your Stonehenge day trip from London by visiting the Stonehenge Visitor Centre, which houses many permanent and temporary exhibitions. Inside, you’ll see 250 archaeological treasures discovered in the landscape including jewellery, pottery and even tools! A stop in the large shop and café is also a must.
Augmented Reality
Enchance your visit to Stonehenge by adding the Augmented Reality (AR) experience. This immersive storytelling experience with custom itineraries offer 360-degree reconstructions that automatically locate where you are standing. With the split screen function, you’ll be able to see today, side-by-side with the past. Years of research and first-hand knowledge from archaeologists mean you’ll get plenty of fun facts, stories, myths and legends with closed captions. Stonehenge's 16 AR viewpoints cover four periods of it's vast history. Will you discover the secret behind how the stones were placed there?
